Do you want to join our conservation activities or shadow our CEO in protecting biodiversity and safeguard people and animal health?

This is your chance!

Our work is demanding and often far from glamorous: it includes coordinating logistics, meeting partners across the region, training communities, supporting livestock and pet health, capture and transport wild animals, responding to wild animal emergencies, investigating wildlife crime scenes, removing snares, lots of admin related work, and even advocating for stronger conservation laws.

If you are willing to drive long distances on rough roads, endure heat, cold, dust, mud, insects, flat tyres, late nights, basic accommodation, limited facilities, and short-notice changes. If you are prepared to join fieldwork that may mean several days away from everyday comforts, including reliable internet access. Then this is for you.

Protecting biodiversity requires understanding Botswana’s land, people, cultures, wildlife, and challenges. Each tell a different story, and meaningful conservation begins by becoming part of the landscape we serve. We believe you should experience that first-hand.

We are launching a pilot opportunity, “Boots on the Ground - Discover Botswana with WildAssist Africa” for one or two general-interest volunteers to accompany our CEO and operational team during day-to-day conservation work over the next 12 months. Suitable volunteers should be fit, adaptable, genuinely interested, able to travel light, willing to work in demanding field conditions at short notice, and able to cover their own flights to Botswana, travel costs, insurance, and subsistence expenses.
