VULTURES UNDER THREAT - WILDASSIST AFRICA TO THE RESCUE

We are loosing vultures at an alarming rate to poisoning in Botswana. The human/ wildlife conflict result in farmers poisoning predators with devastating impact on scavenging vultures. Reports of poisonings are received monthly and a network of organizations work hand in hand with the Department of Wildlife and National Parks to respond to poisoning episodes. Suitable transport crates have been placed at strategic places in Botswana. WildAssist Botswana has sponsored ten emergency vulture treatment kits to be placed at the same places. It will be used under veterinary supervision to stabilize cases in preparation of transport to the nearest veterinary clinic. Time is often of essence and the sooner a bird receives the first treatment. We need your help to donate so we eventually assist response teams and set up and support rehabilitation centers in Botswana. Our future depends on the survival and all six species under pressure.
